### OMORI Community Enhancement Pack (OMO CEP) is an all-in-one collection of tools and mods for OMORI on Steam.
## Comprehensive Setup
OMO CEP includes the **OneLoader** software needed to set up and play OMORI with mods, along with step-by-step instructions for setup.
## Faithful Enhancements
OMO CEP features a collection of **enhancement mods** that improve on the base game in a variety of ways. Whether it's increasing the number of save slots, brand-new character portraits, or fixes to minor design oversights, these mods make for a better first or five hundredth playthrough of OMORI.
## Total Customization
OMO CEP includes instructions for **customizing your mod loadout**. Each of the mods in OMO CEP can be individually enabled or disabled with the in-game mod menu, and it's easy to **add additional mods** to your loadout.
## Cross-Compatible
OMO CEP is **fully compatible with unmodded OMORI save data** and does not affect story progression or Steam achievement unlocks. You do not need to start a new game before using OMO CEP.
## Ease of Access
OMO CEP is intended to be accessible for beginners to modding. It contains detailed instructions and illustrations, and everything is neatly organized to encourage good practices when modding games.
## OMO CEP Lite for Steam Deck
Version 3.5 introduces **OMO CEP Lite**, a build of the modpack specifically for the Steam Deck!
Mods cannot be added or customized in OMO CEP Lite as OneLoader is not included, but the build will run on Linux systems.

### After three years, OMORI Community Enhancement Pack has been finalized.
The pack will continue to work (even if the game updates, you can roll it back to v1.0.8), but it will no longer get updates and support.
We'd like to thank [**all of the mod and tool creators who made this pack possible**](/credits), as well as all of our wonderful users who provided feedback and encouragement over the years.
## Why end support?
* OMO CEP is in an incredibly stable state—we receive fewer than one support ticket per month.
* After four years, most of the OMORI modding community (both creators and users) are more interested in large overhaul mods with fantastic new stories and worlds instead of quality-of-life mods for the base game. Additions to the pack slowed down because there's not much to add!
## Where should I go from here?
OMO CEP is still working great. if you're happy with it, you can keep using it!
If you're using OMO CEP for Windows and are interested in those story overhaul mods we mentioned above, you can browse and download them at [**mods.one**](https://mods.one). You'll want to delete every mod except **oneloader** from your **www\mods** folder before installing an overhaul mod.
## How did you create the OMO CEP Lite releases?

This is not a universal guide for making any mod Steam Deck-compatible!\
We are including this here because it wasn't documented anywhere else.

* Install OMO CEP for Windows.
* Add the `--dump-overlay` launch option to OMORI.
* Launch the game and select OK to the OneLoader prompt.
* OneLoader will name the folder it outputs your modified files to when it is done.
* In the dump folder, rename the **www\img\system\input** folder to **Input** with a capital I.
* This is a bug with OneLoader's dump tool, but it's important to fix because directory paths are case-sensitive on Linux systems.
* Remove any files related to OneLoader from your dump.

## Show File Extensions
By default, Windows Explorer hides the extensions of file types it recognizes (.EXE, .PNG, etc.). It's important that these be visible when setting up mods or asking for support, so we will make sure Windows always shows file extensions for all file types.

Configure Steam and ensure the OMORI installation is unmodded.
## Open Steam Properties

If you are using a Steam Deck, enter **Desktop Mode** and connect your USB-C hub now.

* Open Steam and go to your **Library**.
* Locate **OMORI** in your list of games.
* Right-click it and select **Properties**.
## Disable Automatic Updates
OMORI is unlikely to get another update in the near future, but if it does, your mods will probably stop working until their mod creators can update them. To avoid any nasty surprises, we're going to disable automatic updates for OMORI.
* In the **Properties** window, select the **Updates** tab.
* Set **Automatic Updates** to **Only updates this game when I launch it**.
## Enable Steam Input (Windows)

If you want to play OMORI with the keyboard and not a controller, you can skip this step.
If you're setting up OMO CEP Lite on a Steam Deck, skip this step unless you plan on connecting another controller to your system.

DirectInput game controllers (PlayStation, Nintendo) don't seem to work well with OMORI. We're going to enable **Steam Input** to force the game to recognize all controller types.
* In the **Properties** window, select the **Controller** tab.
* Set **Override for OMORI** to **Enable Steam Input**.
## Clean Game Files
OMO CEP is only compatible with the latest unmodified version of the game.
To save a lot of time later, let's take a little time now to make sure you have the latest version of OMORI and that it's not modified in any way.
### Opt Out of Betas

OMO CEP was finalized on **14 October 2024**.
If a future update breaks compatibility with OMO CEP, you will need to use the Betas tab to roll back the game to version **1.0.8**.

OMORI's developers have given users the ability to roll back to any previous version of the game through Steam's beta build feature. These older versions aren't compatible with OMO CEP, so we'll make sure you aren't using one.
* In the **Properties** window, select the **Betas** tab.
* Set **Select the beta you would like to opt into** to **None**.
### Verify Game Files
This command will compare your installed OMORI files to the versions on Steam's servers. If Steam detects any changes, it will redownload the original files.
* In the **Properties** window, select the **Local Files** tab.
* Click **Verify integrity of game files...** and wait for the validation process to complete.
* If there are no changed files, Steam will tell you validation is complete.
* If there are changed files (e.g. you modded the game with GOMORI), Steam will reacquire the correct ones.

Install OneLoader and a collection of enhancement mods.
## Open Game Folder
We are going to install OMO CEP directly into the game folder. This is also where you will find your OneLoader log for troubleshooting, so keep this location in mind!
* Staying in the **Local Files** tab of OMORI's Properties window, click **Browse...** to open your **OMORI** game folder in your file explorer.
## Install OMO CEP
* Unzip your OMO CEP download and locate the **www** folder inside.
* Drag and drop the **www** folder into your OMORI folder window. This will merge OMO CEP's **www** folder and the www folder that's already part of OMORI.

* If you are asked to overwrite any files, select **Yes to All**.
## Launching the Game
### First Launch
* To play OMORI with mods, just launch the game from Steam like you normally would. OneLoader will automatically start up and inject mods into the game.
I got an error message about "GOMORI-derived changes."
If you get a message that looks like this, you have modded the game with GOMORI before and didn't [**delete your legacy files like we told you to**](/install/getting-started#next-steps).
We recommend [**starting this guide over**](/install/getting-started#next-steps) and cleaning your game files to avoid any compatibility issues.
* Once the game starts up, you'll be asked if you'd like OneLoader to automatically update itself. Use your mouse to select **Enable** or **Disable** to your preference.

As of OMO CEP's final release, the latest version of OneLoader included in the pack is **v1.4.1**.
We recommend disabling automatic updates to OneLoader unless you plan to add more mods that require features only available in future OneLoader releases.

### Close and Re-Launch
The **Window Scaling Fix** mod will not work the first time after it is installed; OMORI must be restarted.
* **Close OMORI**—the easiest way is with the keyboard shortcut Alt + F4.
* Simply launch OMORI again, and Window Scaling Fix will work!

* To play OMORI with mods, just launch the game from Steam like you normally would.\
You'll know everything is working when you see the OMO CEP Lite logo on startup.
I don't see the OMO CEP Lite logo.
Make sure you put the OMO CEP Lite **www** folder in your OMORI folder and were prompted to overwrite files.
It's a common mistake to put the **www** folder inside OMORI's existing **www** folder instead of merging the two folders.

## General
My issue isn't listed here.
If you can't find a solution to your problem in the FAQ, double-check the instructions page you were just working on.

## OneLoader
OneLoader is telling me to look at "latest.log."
**latest.log** is the OneLoader log file and is located in the base **OMORI** game folder. You can open it with any text editor.\
\
If you need help understanding the log, upload your **latest.log** file on the GitHub issue tracker and we'll help you out.
Error: "OMORI must be launched directly from Steam."
OMORI is DRM-protected and cannot be launched from the game executable.
* Make sure you are launching the game by clicking **PLAY** in your Steam library.
Error: "Offset is outside the bounds of the DataView"
* Open your **OMORI** game folder and delete the **.oneloader-image-cache** folder.
## Playing the Game
I can't move up or down in the menu when selecting my controller icons.
* Use ← → to select the icons you want. The cursor will wrap around to the next row if you press → at the end of the previous row.
I copied/downloaded a save file from another PC, and it won't show up in the menu when I try to load it.
OMORI keeps track of which individual save files (fileX.rpgsave) exist in a master file called **global.rpgsave**. You can easily reset global.rpgsave and show all the save files in your **www\save** folder.
**Please note that this trick will reset your settings (text speed, custom keybinds, etc.), but it will not delete or reset any of your save data!**
* Launch OMORI and open the **Options** menu.
* **If you are playing the game in fullscreen, disable fullscreen for now.**
* Scroll over to SYSTEM and select **Restore Default Settings**.
* When the message "Default configuration has been restored. Do you want to recover global.rpgsave?" appears, select **OK**.
* All of your saves should now appear and you can set up the Options menu again to your liking.
I can't disable Mole Cool.
Nobody will ever see this because nobody would ever want to disable Mole Cool.

## Getting Started
Is OMO CEP a good choice for first-time players?
**Yes.** We've worked with the modding community to carefully select mods that create a "vanilla-plus" game experience.
The only mod that changes the game balance is **HERO Buff**, which can be easily disabled from the MODS Menu if you'd like to lean more into the "vanilla" than the "plus" side of things.
Can I use OMO CEP in the middle of my playthrough, without starting a new game?
**Yes.** OMO CEP is fully compatible with unmodded OMORI save data.
You will not need to start a new game should you choose to start or stop using OMO CEP.
Can I still earn Steam achievements while using OMO CEP?
**Yes.** You can still earn every achievement in the game.
Does OMO CEP add the console-exclusive content to OMORI on Steam?
**No.** The console content is copyrighted and we cannot host that online without permission.
The [**Xbox for Windows / Game Pass version of OMORI**](https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/store/omori/9p8wmq1s4tf9) includes the console content, but keep in mind it does not support mods.
## Installation
Can I use OMO CEP Lite on any Linux PC, not just the Steam Deck?
In general, **if your Linux PC can run OMORI without mods, it can run OMO CEP Lite**.\
However, we will not be able to provide full support for your specific distro.
## Playing OMORI
What does the "Decrypt" option do in the MODS Menu?
This tool converts OMORI from a standalone executable to an editable RPGMaker project.
It's only useful if you want to rip the game assets or mod OMORI yourself.
## Other
Can I use this other mod I found with OMO CEP for Windows?
**It depends on the mod.**
In general, the more core functionality a mod changes, the less likely it is to be compatible with OMO CEP.
